BBC videos to appear on MySpaceTV
The BBC, which is already successfully syndicating content on YouTube and Bebo, has now signed a deal with MySpace, the second most popular video-sharing website after YouTube.
“This partnership continues our strategy of putting BBC content right at the heart of where audiences spend their time and watch video online,” Simon Danker, the director of digital media at BBC Worldwide, said in a statement 1.
An article at guardian.co.uk states that the videos will be no more than two minutes and will include clips from shows such as Doctor Who, Robin Hood and Top Gear. This content will be made available to the 27 international territories served by MySpaceTV, around six months after airing on the BBC’s UK public service channels 2.
The BBC and MySpace will share advertising revenue.
